Today my girlfriend Alyssa and I drove down from Baltimore to Northern Virginia to help out with the Barack Obama campaign. Clipboard in hand, we went door-to-door canvassing voters to find out if they were registered to vote and if they were strong/leaning for either Obama or McCain or undecided.
For the most part people were very nice. Even most strong McCain supporters respected what we were doing. Only once did a woman actually tell me that I was on private property and that she was calling the police (she also had infrared camera on the exterior of her house).
On a side note: On the same day that we volunteered, Obama hit 50% for the first time in the Daily Gallup Tracking Poll. Coincidence? I think not.
