Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was chosen by John McCain today to be his Vice presidential running mate. Before serving less than 2 years as Governor of Alaska, her political experience consists primarily as being the mayor of Wasilla, AK with a population of a little over 5,000 (or 15,000 if you include moose).
Ms. Palin was obviously chosen by McCain as part of his continuing strategy to poach militant “never give up, never surrender” Hillary supporters away from Obama and the Democrats. Good luck with that. Instead of running on what are quality traits of their own, Republicans have always run on putting down the traits of others. They are basically a bunch of naysayers running on lies, fear and division.
If “President McCain” were to, I don’t know, pass away in his sleep from old age, can we really hand the keys to our nuclear arsenal to a mayor of a town of 5000 people?
Tonight on Race to the White House, Pat Buchanan said that McCain honored Palin by selecting her as his VP. That’s one way to put it. I would have used the word exploited.
